With my strong emphasis on student-centered approaches to learning my lessons are planned with the needs of each of my learners in mind.

At right is an example of a maths project I adapted to meet the needs of my class. The original task was listed in the textbook as an enrichment task. I chose to use the premise as the basis for a project for my class, linking two areas of curriculum for my students, but adapting it to suit the needs of my individual learners.

For those who were still consolidating their understanding, or needed reassurance that they were competent with the content I used the first project, including supporting information such as formulae etc.  Students who had not yet reached competency in the content also participated in a homework support group, where I was able to provide additional time to support them in their work. The second project was aimed at those who had mastered the concepts and were ready for further challenge. This project left more to the individual to glean from the material and included some higher thinking tasks, asking students to draw less obvious conclusions and apply the process they had mastered to new cases.

The attached gallery shows some student work around this project.
